Off-grid Solar Power to Save Lives

Calling for your support to bring solar power to the Mvimwa hospital in Tanzania!

Solar Without Frontiers’ volunteers are working together with the Benedictine Abbey in Mvimwa, Tanzania, to bring a reliable and affordable supply of electricity to the local community hospital. The hospital run by the abbey provides a range of essential healthcare services to the population of nearby villages, including a dispensary, a maternity and a medical analysis laboratory.

Our objective is to supply and install an off-grid solar power system (10 kW PV capacity with batteries and back-up generator) at the hospital, for lighting, refrigeration and the operation medical equipment (X-Ray, sterilization, ultra-sound, etc.). This project will have a tremendous impact on the quality of the care provided at the hospital and on the health of the local population.

We aim to raise together with Mvimwa Abbey a total of circa 30,000 euro to fund the procurement and shipping to Tanzania of the hospital’s solar power system, as well as to cover the travelling costs of our volunteers. You can play a key role in the realization of this project by donating generously. As Solar Without Frontiers is entirely run by volunteers, 100% of your donation will go the project. You can donate online or send a cheque to Solar Without Frontiers, Lifetime Lab, Lee Road, Cork city.    THANK YOU!
